During the World Economic Conference that was held in Malta on May 16, 17 and 18, 2022, the President of the International Organization for Local Governance, Mrs Ahlam Al-Arfawi, was awarded a tribute to women, who was honoured at the same World Economic Conference for Women that was held in Tunisia in 2019.
This conference will provide interventions on empowering women in the economic, social, and political fields and leadership mechanisms, standing side by side with women, enhancing their roles, and attending to find a change-maker and a leading woman.
Intervention
Mrs Al-Arfawi had an intervention at the conference related to the role of women, and how to make them leading, innovative, and capable women. The President of the International Organization for Local Governance was also honoured among the 100 best women for the Excellence in Leadership Award or the Outstanding Leader.
Al-Arfawi praised Malta, its people, its beauty, the morals and culture of its citizens, their humility and their tendency towards peace, civilizational convergence and dialogue between peoples.

Al-Arfawi was also invited by the mayor of Victoriosa, where it was agreed to start preparing for a work agreement between the municipality and the organization, as well as an agreement to work on developing the municipal council, a work agreement on sustainable development and a leadership mechanism. She met with members of the Municipal Council to consult on developing municipal work and activating the real role of women and the young generation.
It was agreed to provide training courses with experts from the organization, leading sponsoring work, upbringing of young people and children, as well as for women, to activate their role in all areas of life.
